Weekend Dinner

As much as try to fight it, every year at this time my inner hobbit kicks in persuading me to spend my evenings in hibernation – opting for cozy nights in, over skipping around the city. Not that this is all bad though, since it allows me to dedicate more time to my kitchen that is too oft neglected during warmer months. This past weekend I recreated my favorite cocktail in the comfort of my own home. It’s a simple mix of one part St. Germain and three  parts Prosecco. I paired it with pork chops, broccoli rice, and this recipe for dressing up squash and zucchini, . For the squash, I encourage being a little liberal with the nutmeg for the perfect finishing touch. All in all, I’m happy to avoid the blistering cold for the next few months…at least every once in a while!
