Ever since we got engaged, I have been so excited for the registry process. I mean, running around a department store, picking out things I love and adding them to a list for other people to buy for us? Talk about any girl’s dream come true!
In all seriousness, I’m truly looking forward to giving our apartment, particularly the kitchen, some overdue TLC. When Chris and I first moved in together, we cobbled together the items we had in our respective apartments to create a kitchen suite of the barest of essentials—my steak knives, his collection of three whisks (??), and so on and so forth. This past weekend, we went to Bloomingdale’s and knocked the registry off our to-do list in just a couple of hours. Here are some highlights from the morning of shopping.
While I got right down to business with the china selection process, Chris focused on more important matters like getting coffee and standing around.
And we have a winner! We ended up choosing (and shockingly agreeing upon…) a mix of plates from two different brands—these watercolor dinner and butter plates by Lenox and simple, dot accent plates by Kate Spade. Chris isn’t exactly loving the gold flatware, but can’t win ’em all.
For our morning uptown, I slipped into a ruffled skirt (sadly sold out, but similar here and here) and an easy long sleeve t-shirt—which are both on constant rotation in my closet at the moment. Speaking of playing favorites, the top handle bag is the must-have silhouette of the season in my opinion, so I just had to have this one by Staud. Just grab and go!
The other items I’m really excited to have added to our list is a fresh set of sheets and a new duvet cover, because there’s nothing more refreshing than a squeaky clean bed set up.
