In the world of wedding planning, I felt the biggest sense of relief in the process so far when I dropped the wedding invitations off at the post office last week (in a torrential downpour wearing a white shirt, obviously). In April, we went to Bella Figura—a chic custom invitations store on the the Upper East Side—and looked through books and books of possible options. Going into the appointment, I had done some light Pinterest cruising, but was really not set on any one pattern or style.
I ended up going with the very first invite that caught my eye on the wall of samples in the shop, because the design somehow simultaneously spoke to the high summer timing and the black tie attire. Of course, the decision was made after circling around and around through the other front runners for almost two hours (Chris was thrilled with the indecisiveness, trust me…). Scroll all the way down to see the final results!
{the final three contenders!}
{the finished product. i am in love with the gold foil, especially on the rehearsal dinner invite.}
