When I was thinking about where to shoot our engagement photos, I initially thought we’d shoot them near our current apartment in Dumbo. Then, the more I thought about it the more I wanted to revisit some of our favorite spots in Nolita, where we lived for two years. We met up with our wedding photographer in one of the neighborhood’s best cocktail bars—The Daily. We went there after dinner on our very first date, and it’s just sort of stuck.
After a couple of aperol spritzes in The Daily, we spilled out onto the street to get some “action shots” of us strolling around the neighborhood. For our first outfit, we wanted to be a bit dressed up, so Chris wore the blazer he proposed in, and I rented this white dress from Rent the Runway. As always, I put my money where my shoes are, and got these striped mules to finish the look. Spoiler alert: I plan to wear them for our rehearsal dinner too.
Then, Chris got a little taste of my world as a fashion blogger. We packed our second outfit in a duffle bag and snuck into the bathroom at Joe and the Juice to make a quick wardrobe change. We came out of a shared bathroom to find a long line of people waiting to use the restroom, who were less than impressed but onward!
Now, in our more casual look, we continued to walk through Soho. This is my favorite look of Chris’s because this jacket looks so cute on him, if I do say so myself. I was relieved to slip into my current favorite pair of jeans, an easy white shirt (also seen here) and again, crazy shoes. Sense a pattern?
This one may look like a sweet moment, but really I refused to walk across this dirty gravel in my heels. Thanks for the lift, Chris!
To end the day on a high note, we posed for this photo in front of our first apartment and then tucked into Tacombi for tacos and margaritas. Mission accomplished! After seeing these, I’m so excited to see what our amazing photographer, Laura, shoots on our wedding day!
