We’ve officially entered that time of year in New York when every outfit requires serious outerwear. By the time January rolls around, I typically find myself reluctantly slipping into the same puffer coat, day in and day out, so this year I’m hoping to add a couple toppers with attitude to my collection to commute in style. Gotta give my fellow subway riders a little something extra, ya know?

This statement jacket by E8ight Dreams is my new obsession, not just for obvious reasons (that collar!!!), but for its layering potential. I styled it here with the perfect denim dress by another new-to-me brand,Tart Collections. I also can’t wait to layer the jacket under my favorite wool coat, and let the pink sherpa peak out all winter.
