After sharing images from our wedding ceremony and reception here, I wanted to share a deeper look at all of the handpicked details that helped to bring our day to life. From my something blue and the embroidery inside Chris’s tuxedo to the design elements of our dinner tablescape, it’s these additions that made each part of the day feel so special and unique to us. Like most brides, there were certainly times throughout the planning process where I felt overwhelmed and fed up with picking out all of these seemingly unimportant details, but in hindsight I’m so glad I put the effort into these elements. It’s all in the details, right?
the earrings | These were my hands down favorite accessory that I found during wedding planning. They are by Jennifer Behr, and I got so many compliments on them all night long.
the shoes | To get ready during the day, I wore these Miu Miu pearl slides to add a little something blue to my white Eberjey pajamas. For the main event, I wore these Jimmy Choo pumps that were absolutely love at first when I saw them at Saks during a wedding dress shopping trip.
something blue | My something blue for the wedding was this adorable Smythson notebook that I wrote my vows in. Chris and I loved writing and reading our own vows to each other, because it just felt so much more personal. 
the bridesmaids’ gifts | I gifted my bridesmaids different belts from Etsy and pearl ear crawlers from Bauble Bar, because a little sparkle goes a long way. I also gave them pajamas from H&M with their last names embroidered on the back to wear while we got ready.
groomsmen gifts | As a nod to his English heritage, Chris gifted his groomsmen bottles of gin with a New York touch from Brooklyn Gin.
the tux | I’m obsessed with the detailing that went into Chris’s tux from Knot Standard, especially the date monogram on the inside. Now when he wears this suit to other fanciful affairs, we can always remember our wedding day together.
cocktail hour| Chris and I were dead set on skipping the first look,so we took our photos during cocktail hour. We wanted our guests to enjoy great music and delicious cocktails without us, so we hired a string quartet to play hip hop songs and created signature drinks that were a nod to our hometowns in Tennessee for me and in England for him.
the table setting | This was my absolute favorite part of the day to plan. I have a genuine obsession with creating beautiful tablescapes for holidays and events, so this was my time to shine. I convinced Chris that it was so necessary to rent not one, but two plates, and gold flatware with black handles from Borrowed Blu, which made the setting feel luxe and elevated.
the paper | To finish our tablescape, we added floral menus and table numbers with our hashtag on them from Minted. We also printed our programs and escort cards using their site, and it just made our lives so easy. They had so many designs to choose from, so there was no need to hire a graphic designer. There’s one thing off the list!
the band | We found our band easily, because they played at our friends’ wedding last fall. They are called Silver Arrow Band, and they brought the house down all night.
the big reveal | the best part about the bridesmaids’ dresses by Fame & Partners is that the mermaid skirt came off to create a mini dress made for hitting the dance floor. 
the cake | I gave the rundown on the cake in my first wedding post too, but it was a labor of love by Sugarlane Cake Shop with flowers by L’Atelier Rouge. I was obsessed with the results and our guests said it was delicious!
the cake knife | When a girlfriend of mine recommended that I get a special knife to cut the cake, I was at that point in the wedding planning process where I was just over the laundry list of to dos and extras. After I got over my “who freaking cares?” moment, I took to Etsy and found this adorable Kate Spade server set that we personalized with our date. Now, I look forward to serving desserts with this sweet set for years to come. I got a little carried away and ordered these champagne flutes too.
