I’m so excited to finally be sharing a closer look at our playroom design, and hey, it only took me over a year to get it done. All jokes aside, I absolutely love how this space turned out. I wanted this to be a room for the twins to play, but I also wanted it to be suitable for adults to hang out too. If we have guests in town they can relax here, because it’s next door to the guest bedroom, and sometimes I even banish Chris to this space to watch sports.
To me, it strikes just the right balance between adult and child with its neutral tones and colorful toys all over the floor. Along the way in the design process, I discovered Hapi Art and instantly fell in love with the bright and unexpected pieces of art by Kristi Kohut. I absolutely love this glitter shadowbox that we put in the playroom, and they recently launched these incredible floral pieces on mirrors (major swoon!) that I’m now eyeing for another space in our home. Besides the art, the other finishing touches in the room were this pendant light that replaced a dated ceiling fan and a custom Roman shade that finally went up last week using this Schumacher fabric. Voilà! One year later, we’ve got a family room.
I’m so excited to embark on the kitchen renovation project next and will be sharing along the way. Keep scrolling for more photos of the playroom space, plus check out our bathroom renovation from last year here if you haven’t seen it yet. Thanks for reading! xx, Alyssa
