Having grown up in the South, I have so many fond memories of long summer nights spent outside in sprawling backyards—sitting around on our porch, catching up with friends and family and sipping on a great cocktail. For this reason, being able to be outside in the evenings at our apartment in Dumbo is such a blessing (see, look how Southern I am!). I’m excited to finally share a balcony reveal here with you all, after slowly adding more decor since we moved in.

Our balcony starter kit, so to speak, was this sofa, this coffee table and a few packs of string lights. At the beginning of this summer, I added a few more accessories, like these hurricanes and terrazzo balls, and a great plant to complete the space. Word to the wise: if you’re thinking of getting a plant for an outdoor space in NYC, get a heavier planter. Our poor plant blows over in the wind a few times a week, but otherwise we are just living the dream out here. Just add with rosé and snacks!
