If you’re anything like me, your mental state at any given moment hinges on the cleanliness and organization of your apartment. If the bed is made and things are in their place, I feel like I’m starting each day off on the right foot. Outside of the obvious—lighting candles and having a nice glass of wine—I wanted to share three easy apartment updates that make me instantly more at ease.
1- Upgrade Your Caffeine Routine
We picked up this Nespresso machine on major sale on Black Friday. It comes with a milk frother and makes both coffee and espresso. The whole set up makes each morning’s coffee feel a bit more luxurious, plus I’m obsessed with this chic bowl I use for storing the pods. While the machine is an investment on the front end, the pods are just one dollar each—so, much cheaper than a latte at my favorite coffee shop. Looking at you La Colombe…
2- Dress Your Couch
There’s no simpler way to makeover your entire living room than a quick update to the throw pillows on the couch. I prefer a couple of printed pillows mixed in with textural, tonal ones. This equation makes it really easy to rearrange or add in new patterns when the seasons change. I also highly recommend this amazing throw from Pottery Barn that is cable knit with an unbelievably warm sheepskin on the reverse side. Warning: may cause naps.
3 – Go Green
Last, but definitely not least, nothing makes me feel like I have my sh*t together quite like having fresh flowers and greenery around the apartment. I’ve been craving a cactus for our living room space for quite some time now, and finally made the trek up to the flower district last week for this massive one. If you don’t live in New York, check out this great succulent selection online. Happy hunting!
