On a particularly sunny Saturday a couple of weeks ago, Chris and I went to Marisa Perry Atelier, where he bought my engagement ring, to pick out our wedding bands. Since I didn’t get to partake in the diamond shopping the first time around, I was really excited to be a part of the process for our bands.
Of course when we got to the store, I was like a moth to a flame—trying on rose gold and gold bands with pavé diamonds in varying thicknesses and weights. I quickly landed on the stunner below, because I could easily envision wearing it as a stand alone or stacked with other bands down the road (wink!).
Now for the tricky part—picking a band for Chris. Like most guys, he’s not a ring person, and even suggested at one point that he didn’t need to wear one. You can imagine that my reaction was something along the lines of “oh hell no.” Sooooo yeahhh…we knew we had our work cut out for us to find something he will truly want wear everyday.
He went back and forth debating between silver or gold, squared edges or beveled, thick or thin. In the end, he liked the gold medium-sized band most. Judging by his hilariously awkward, jazz hand below, I’d say it’s going to take some getting used to for him, but I just love how it looks on him.
As we sat down to make our final purchase, with rings on and champagne in hand, it all started to sink in. All of this planning is going to be over before we know it. We are going to host a really fun party with all of our friends and family in New York. It’s going to fly by in the blink of an eye. Then, when it’s all over and the sparklers and balloons have been cleared, we have an exciting runway ahead of us—wearing these rings and living our lives as husband and wife (!!). I truly can’t wait.
