Although he would claim to be completely self-styled, I like to think that with just a bit of my coaching in the early days, Chris has become a really great dresser. He, perhaps, even has a better wardrobe than me at this point. I have a handful of guy friends who ask me for advice on what to wear, so I thought it would be fun to start sharing some menswear here on a-listed—starting with our typical date night looks. Our favorite night out is dinner at one of our neighborhood mainstays—like Gato or Bar Primi, and our favorite night in is spent catching up on tv over wine. Lately we’ve been really into Billions, Better Call Saul and, of course, House of Cards. Along with our looks, I’m sharing 10 things you may not know about the two of us. Give it up for Chris, everyone! xo, alyssa
- We met on Tinder. A hearty swipe right, I’d say.

At some point we started calling each other “babe head.” So weird.
His: Tom Ford shirt (similar), Rag & Bone jeans, Common Project shoes, Rolex watch via The Real Real
Hers: For Love & Lemons dress, Charlotte Olympia shoes (similar vibes)
3. I secretly love when he makes calls for work at home early in the morning. There’s just something so sexy about a (British) man in charge.
4. I not-so-secretly hate when he skips through all the songs on a playlist—usually right before the good part. I call him “Flash Finger.”
5. His biggest pet peeve about me is that I always try to squeeze in one more task. One more blog post, one more meal prep, one more apartment cleaning task—which inevitably makes us late. Sorry, world.
6. After dinner on our first date, we made out in a booth in what’s now our favorite bar—The Daily. He brought all his dates there when he first moved to NYC from London. Playa.
7. On our second date, we held hands across the dinner table and then I took him to a bar to meet all my friends. Think: him in a proper Barbour coat and me dancing to all the hip hop music. That’s when I knew he was the one.
9. Whenever we visit my hometown in Tennessee, he gets so frustrated because no one we meet can understand his accent. I’m go into translator mode—like “He said he wants water.”
10. He’s the clumsiest person I’ve ever met outside of my own brother. Just the other night, he spilled an entire bowl of Chex Mix all over the floor. We’re still walking around in crumbs…
